How to reach Kanheri Caves

Kanheri Caves are located inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, in Mumbai.

et on to any metro train from Churchgate station to Vihar (called harbour line). Get down at Borivali station (about 1Hr ride).

Take an auto-rickshaw/bus/cab to the main gate of Sanjay Gandhi National Park (2.5km). For Kanheri Caves & Sanjay Gandhi National Park the main entrance is common, since the caves are inside the national park

Kanheri Caves is about 5km from the park entry gate. Take the shuttles that runs between the main gate and the cave. It's a 15 minutes ride (a shuttle bus goes every 20 minutes).

You'll need to pay the park entry fee, shuttle fee and the Kanheri Caves entry fee. If you are traveling by private vehicles (car, bike etc), additional entry charges to be paid. You can drive all the way up to the cave entry point, from where you'll need to do a short trek to see the caves.

[#bar-a]Park timing (7.30am to 6pm) and the cave timings (9am to 5pm). Don't miss to catch the last van back to the main gate, if you depend on one.

Both the park and the caves are closed on Mondays.
