Ponnumthuruthu Island

A serene uninhabited island in Anjego Backwaters near Varkala. Easy to reach from Thiruvananthapuram (40km), or as a day trip from Varkala (20km). Head to the jetty at Nedunganda Village to reach the Ponnumthuruthu Island . The island has a 100 years old Shiva-Parvathi temple. People go here for Nature, serene views and to experience the rustic charm.

Kappil is a narrow strip of land sandwiched between the Arabian sea and Backwaters. Located 53 km from Thiruvananthapuram towards Varkala.

The Veli Tourist Village is on the banks of Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea. Popular boating and picnic spot. Located 12km from the Thiruvananthapuram city center.

Poovar Backwaters

The estuary with mangroves, backwater and the beach in one go is the attraction of Poovar. People go there to enjoy all these in one go. Canoe through the mangrove forest, enjoy the expanse of the backwaters and finally the beach with golden sand.
Located 35 km south of Thiruvananthapuram city on the way to Kovalam and Kanyakumari.
