Gurdwara Damdama Sahib was first built by Sardar Baghel Singh in 1783, when a huge Sikh army under his command conquered Delhi.

Later Maharaja Ranjit Singh renovated the Gurdwara. Consequently, a deorhi (gateway) was added.

Every year, for the Hola Mohalla festival thousands of devotees assemble here to celebrate.
