Kozhikode has a lot more tourism attractions than you think!
Beypore Beach
: The popular beach in Kozhikode. A bit on the north end is where Vasco Da Gama landed on India's shore in 1498AD.
: A fabulous waterfall on the edges of the Western Ghats. Located on the way to Wayanad from Kozhikode.
A fantastic nature park run by the forest department. Good place to do a mini trek & family outing. Take a detour from the Kozhikode-Wayanad highway.
A bit of south of Vanaparvam is the Kakkad Eco Tourism. Less known and less crowded, but great place to splash in the crystal clear water in the check-dam. Take the diversion between Thamarassery and Adivaram on the Kozhikode-Wayanad highway.
: The drive towards Kakkayam dam itself is exciting. The place looks as if it is in middle of nowhere. Speed boat ride in the dam is the action highlight. This place is surrounded by the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary. You can take the road to Kakkayam from Perambra ( for those coming from Kannur side) or from Thamarassery ( if driving from Kozhikode).
