For those who are not familiar with this regions, note Wayanad is the name of a district and not a place. Most likely you'll be driving to one of the towns or villages in wayanad like Mananthavadi, Sulthan Bathery, Kalpetta, Vythiri, Meppadi, Edakkal and so on.

Wyand is located about 200km southeast of Bekal and in general about 5 hours of drive.

Though there are many road connections, essentially you'll be entering Wayanad along its southern or western areas.

Out of the four route options listed below, three (Route A, Route B & Route C) approach Wayanad through its western side, while Route D take you directly to the south wayanad.

Now, if your destination in Wayanad is places like Kalpetta, SulthanBathery, Meppadi, Vythiri, Edakkal etc Rout D is a more appropriate choice.

For places around Mananthavady and north, consider the other routes mentioned. For the sake of simplicity and the routes are planned from Bekal to Kalpetta in Wayanad. Route C : Bekal - - Payyanur -- Kannur -- Thalassery -- Kuttiyadi -- Korome -- Kalpetta : 195km.
Route D : Bekal -- Kannur -- Mahe -- Vadakara -- Koyilandy -- Balussery -- Thamarassery -- Kalpetta : 216km.
