Make it a point to visit the art gallery inside the Terminal 1 of the airport. This will be memorable finale of your Kerala experience before you board the flight out of Kochi. keep an hour, you'll not regret the time spend.
This art section is located at the Lever 2 of Terminal 1. After the checking area, take the escalator to the security section at the level 2. Now before enter the security section, look out for the direction to the gallery towards the western corner.
The interior of the gallery is done in the traditional Kerala architectural style, called 'Thachushastram'. The facade ('Poomugham'), seating area with backrest ( 'charupadi') , all done in exact traditional style.
The pavilion is set around a large courtyard ('Nadumittam') of a 'Nalukettu' style home. Life like images of state's traditional art forms such as Koodiyattam, Mohiniyattom, Ottanthullal, Koothu, Theyyam, Kathakali and Chakiyarkoothu is on display.
