Rajastan
Arguably Rajasthan is one of the best sold destinations in India. That stands in stark contrast with the fact more than 70% of the state is part of the Thar Desert.
I
n reality this very desert backdrop is what makes Rajastan stands out from the rest of the Indian states with comparable attractions.Rajastan is one of the largest states in India. Area wise it is about twice the size of Florida or a little smaller than Germany.
Jaipur , the western tip of the so-called tour circuit,'Golden Triangle' is the capital of Rajastan.
Aravali , one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, bifurcates Rajasthan almost vertically. The left half of the state is part of the Thar Desert while the smaller right half makes the fertile planes.
The shifting sand dunes and the dry climate of the ever expanding Thar was no deterrent for habitation in these regions. There are old cities within the desert regions ,some with fairytale like castles , palaces and forts.
