opala is the aspect of Lord Krishna as the cowherd. In this Krishna often spots a bamboo flute (venu). One of the three sanctorums contains a tall image of Krishna playing the flute as the icon.Inside the temple, you can also see a beautiful panel of Krishna playing the flute and the cows listening to the music.This is a classic theme in the Hindu mythology.
