Notable for its flowerlike shape, this is a  prominent attraction in Delhi. Like all Houses of Worship, the Lotus Temple is open to all, regardless of religion.

Lotus Temple
This is one of India’s few Bahai houses of worship. Open to people of all faiths. Its modern architecture of a 9 petals lotus (hence the name) and ambience draw hordes of tourists.

Akshardham Temple
'Akshardham' means the divine abode of God. Delhi’s most famous Hindu temple. Famous for its architecture. Hindu spiritual messages, vibrant devotional traditions and ancient architecture all are echoed in this temple's art and architecture.

his temple is hailed as an eternal place of devotion, purity and peace. Open to visitors of all traditions & faiths.

Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir
This temple of the Jain religious tradition is the oldest and best-known Jain temple in Delhi. Popularly called lal mandir (red temple) , thanks to the ochre coloured tower, this temple is directly across from the Red Fort in the Chandni Chowk area.

[#metro] Get down at Lal Qila metro station ( Violet Line). Cross the Chandni Chowk road and 2 minutes walk to the temple from metro station.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Built in 1783 this is place of worship of the Sikh religious tradition. The temple was built in honour of the eighth guru, Guru Har Krishan, and built as the largest gurudwara in Delhi.

[#metro] Located 1 km from Connaught Place. Get down at Rajiv Chowk metro station ( Blue Line) . 15 minutes walk to the gurudwara from the metro station.

Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir
The Hanuman Temple near the Jhandewalan metro station is popular for the 108-ft Hanuman statue. During the evening aarti, th idols hand’s move back and chest opens up displaying images of Lord Ram and Sita. A theme recreated from Ramayana.

[#metro] Get down at Jhandewalan metro station ( Blue Line) . Temple is located along the metro track, 2 minutes walk from the staton.

Birla Mandir
This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Its original name is Laxminarayan Temple. Birla Mandir is popular for its architecture. Industrialist & philanthropist JK Birla built this in 1939 (therefore the name). Interestingly Mahatma Gandhi inaugurated this temple on the condition that people of all castes be allowed to visit it.

[#metro] Get down at R.K. Ashram Marg metro station ( Blue Line) located 1 1/2 km from the temple complex.

ISKCON temple
This temple is promoted by ISCON (The International society for Krishna Consciousness), a spiritual institution which promotes peace and techniques to understand human life. The ISKCON temple in Delhi, much like its temples all over India, is hugely popular with Krishna devotees.

[#metro] Get down at Nehru Place ( Violet line ), located 1 km from the temple. Also combine the visit to the Lotus Temple nearby.
