The travel itinerary is a essentially a round trip road journey with Kochi(or Ernakulam) as the arrival/departure point. Arrive at Kochi, drive to Munnar, then drive to Thekkady, and retur to Kochi for departure.
Day 1 : Reach Kochi by flight or train. On arrival take a cab to Munnar (130 kms and 5hrs drive)
On the way you can see the Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara waterfalls.
On arrival at Munnar are check in to you hotel or resort. Overnight stay in Munnar
Day 2 : Explore Munnar. Hand pick one or two popular routes. Munnar haas 4 pupular directions to explore ( will need many days to cover all). See the sightseeing itinerary table & munnar tour map.
Eravikulam National Park, Tea Museum & Tea Estates, Mattupetty Dam, Eco Point, The Blossom Hydel Park are popular day trip spots. Stay overnight at Munnar.

Day 3 Drive to Thekkady from Munnar (110kms/4hrs)
Enroute visit Spice Plantation & Lockhart Tea Tourism (Devikulam). There there are a few pictusite view points on this route (NH85). from Munnar to Thekkady.
If you arrive before the evening, visit Elephant Junction at Thekkady. Or do it next day. Stay overnight at Thekkady
Day 4 Set out early morning for the wildlife safari (boat ride) around the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Drive to Kochi from Thekkady. (150km, 5 hours). Take the return flight from Kochi International airport or train fromErnakulam Junction railway station.
Another option is to skip, Thekkady to stay one more night at Munnar. You can cover Eravikulam National Park, Jeep safari and more. Also less hectic itinerary, as you skip the road trip to Thekkady from Munnar.
