Y

ou find everything changed in one stroke. The air is cold and misty. The smell is predominantly of coffee, but still with a hint of dried ginger, cardamom and orange in that order.

Coorg sits trapped but comfortably inside an almost closed arc formed by forests. Coorg is rural at large, but quite rich thanks to its farm driven economy.

[#dot-b]The crux of Coorg tourism is all about its culture and Nature.

Culturally it's is one of a kind of place in this region.

It seems in whichever direction you go , the bustle of Madikeri town gives way to an ere of wildness. And that too much quicker than you actually imagined. The curly roads wind through the hills and valleys aimlessly. That thin mountain fog has an airbrush effect on the whole scene.

Socked in this landscape lives a culture that is immensely proud of its traditions and moorings. Unlike many tourist destinations, in Coorg you will deal a lot closer with Nature and the people.
Of course, for those with a flair for adventure, the imposing Western Ghats is always ready with its intimidating peaks.

Coorg has many nicknames – ‘Scotland of India‘, thanks to the many legacy reasons ;’ Kashmir of South India’,for its misty weather and mountainous landscape, and of late the ‘Grove Capital of the World‘.

[#dot-b]In this otherwise lazy looking ambient you will have a busy schedule. You’ll be heading for wildlife safari at Nagarhole; checkout the ‘elephant camp’ at Dubare;
